Marquis Teague’s College Decision: Battle Between Kentucky & Louisville

It’s alright if you’re not familiar with Marquis Teague just yet. Unless you’re a diehard high school hoops fan, or from Indiana, chances are you’ve never even seen the kid play. But as the best point guard in the Class of 2011, and the younger brother of the Atlanta Hawks’ Jeff Teague, you should get to know him. Today, Teague has setup a 1:30 PM news conference to decide where he’s going to school in two years. And all signs point to it coming down to Kentucky and Louisville. MORE >

Kentucky’s John Calipari Can Pull Off Amazing Recruiting Hat Trick

It’s safe to say that in one year, John Calipari has turned Kentucky into NBA U. With five players slated to go in the first 20 picks of this year’s NBA Draft, and commitments last week from top-five players in the Class of 2010 (Brandon Knight) and Class of 2011 (Michael Gilchrist) - not to mention All-American senior Doron Lamb - you’d think Coach Cal would take a day off. Think again. While there are still some outstanding players who might commit to the Wildcats for next year, Calipari is focusing his attention on the Class of 2012. MORE >

Yesterday, we gave you the exclusive that Doron Lamb is headed to Kentucky. While he just officially announced, the big news tonight was where Josh Selby was headed. While there was talk that he could end up at Kentucky, making one of the sickest backcourts in the nation, the feeling all week was that he was going to head to Kansas. If you missed it on National Signing Day, John Calipari is rebuilding another monster at Kentucky. Right after five of his underclassmen went pro, he immediately landed Brandon Knight, the top senior PG in the country, and Michael Gilchrist, maybe the top player period in the 2011 junior class. In addition to them, Calipari has two blue chip commits in swingman Stacey Poole and Turkish big man Enes Kanter. It’s time to add one more. While All-American senior shooting guard Doron Lamb is formally announcing his decision tomorrow at the Jordan Brand Classic, we already know what it’s going to be. Doron Lamb is headed to Kentucky. In case you didn’t already know, the McDonald’s All American Game is taking place this week. So that means the POWERADE Jam Fest is going on tonight. We just got the list of participants, and let me say, you couldn’t ask for a better group of dunkers. Josh Selby, C.J. Leslie, Joe Jackson, Ray McCallum, Jereme Richmond, Tristan Thompson, Patric Young and Perry Jones fill out the list of contenders.
