Lamont “Momo” Jones has been looking for a new high school to attend since American Christian (PA) closed last year. His short list throughout the summer was powerhouse Rice HS in Harlem New York, where Momo is from and he previously attended before American Christian, St. Anthony’s (NJ) and Oak Hill Academy (VA).

The headmaster at St. Anthony’s informed Jones and his family that they do not accept incoming seniors, so St. Ant’s was out of the equation. Jones enrolled at Rice last week and was expected to suit up for the Raiders this upcoming season, but was still waiting on word from the CHSAA on if he word be cleared to play.

The story took a turn when Tommy Mason-Griffin, another top point guard in the country who was enrolled at Oak Hill, decided to return home to Texas. This opened the door for Jones to attend Oak Hill and word is the 6-0 G is scheduled to start classes this week.

momo should not have left rice in the first place, but i still have a lot of love for my n.y.c ball players, and what’s up with the chsaa league any way. i feel if a students grades are up to par let the kids play, the chsaa is to strict, if a kid decides to go to another school for what ever reason why punish him by making him sit out, what kind of disipline is that for someone who has a change of heart, is it a crime to transfer schools, i think not, we are losing our ball players to other states because of the this, change the rule keep our players home before they go off to collage o.k.
