TaShawn Mabry Chase Intensifies; Florida Now in the Mix

It was around this time last month that Rocky Mount (N.C.) High’s TaShawn Mabry, a 6-6 rising senior forward, told HighSchoolHoop about how nearly every national recruiting service was sleeping on him. (Read “TaShawn Mabry Demands Respect”)
Mabry said that this summer things would be different and so far he’s backed it up. TaShawn followed up a strong showing at the Carolina Challenge with an even stronger showing at the Tournament of Champions over Memorial Day weekend - it’s now safe to say that Mabry has solidified his place among 2010’s elite. Just ask the schools that have jumped in the mix recently.
In the last week or so, Mabry has reportedly fielded offers from Florida, Charlotte and Virginia Commonwealth. He already held offers from North Carolina State, Clemson and Miami, which has intensified its pursuit of Mabry lately.
Mabry visited VCU recently and plans to visit Miami, and perhaps Florida, soon.
