Norfolk Christian Academy (Va.) forward James McAdoo underwent surgery earlier this week to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder, according to his BWSL coach Boo Williams.

It’s a lot harder out there without McAdoo,” said Williams. “It’s just like the injury (Orlando Magic point guard) Jameer Nelson had this past season. It was pretty bad.”

Williams went on to say that McAdoo’s injury would sideline him for “at least four months.” McAdoo, a 6-8 rising junior who is rated the No. 13 prospect in the HighSchoolHoop top 50, is just coming off a starring role with USA Basketball’s U-16 national team. There he averaged 16.8 points and 8.6 rebounds while leading Team USA to the gold medal in the FIBA Americas Championships in Argentina three weeks ago.

McAdoo injured the shoulder while grabbing a rebound in the championship game.
