The Harrison Barnes Diary: Official visit to Duke
Words. Harrison Barnes

As he navigates through the hectic recruiting process, HighSchoolHoop’s top-rated player, Ames High (IA) swingman Harrison Barnes has agreed to chronicle his thoughts for us during each of his five official visits. First was North Carolina, then Oklahoma, followed by Kansas. Now Barnes shares his experiences from his official visit to Duke last weekend …
My flight got into Raleigh/Durham at 11:45 p.m. on Thursday. I had Coach Wojo (Steve Wojciechowski), Coach (Nate) James and Coach (Chris) Carawell waiting to pick me up. Coach James and Coach Carawell gave me a ride to the hotel. But it was crazy; I had an eyelash stuck in my eye, and by the time I got that out, I was warmly greeted by Coach K at the front of the hotel. They took me up to my room and I got to get some sleep. It was a really nice hotel, too; it was the Washington Duke.
Friday, I got up early and was greeted by the entire coaching staff and we had breakfast at the hotel. That was really good, and then from there I got to go to class with one of my really good friends Andre Dawkins (Class of 2009), who I had not seen this summer. So I was excited about that. Andre’s good people.
Then I had a chance to get some shots up at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Andre and I were just shooting around and that was really cool to just do that. After that we had lunch in one of the side rooms and I got a chance to meet the Secretary of Veteran Affairs. I really enjoyed that a lot.
Then I got a chance to watch Duke practice, and that was a great time to see Coach K interact with the players and see how they prepare for games. I think the most impressive thing about that was the discipline. Rarely does Coach K ever have to raise his voice. He has practice timed down to a science, and he’ll just say little things and the team will respond quickly. That was really impressive to me.
After practice I had a meeting with the Dean of Undergraduate Admissions. That was really good to see what Duke’s about and get a feel for the university.
After that I got a chance to go over to Coach K’s house and have a steak and lobster dinner, which was just a really cool time. Following that I got a chance to sit with the team and watch film while they prepared for the Pfeiffer game the next day.
Then I got a chance to go out with the players and see how the other side of Carolina has a good time, and I would say that I definitely had a good time.
So Saturday morning, the day began with a meeting with the Dean of the Law School. That gave me more information about the university and the law aspect of it. Then we had a team breakfast and following that we had a team shootaround.
After that the coaching staff, my family and I had a tour of the East campus, which included the dorms, the dining halls and part of the Durham area.
One of the coolest things I got to see was the Duke Chapel, where I got a tour from a really cool guy named Oscar, who was very gesticulated about giving me the tour. He was just a really cool guy. Then we saw the rooftop of the Bell Tower, which was a powerful experience.
Following that we all went back to the basketball office and watched the highlight videos of the coaches when they were players. We especially liked Coach (Chris) Collins’ video and (Oklahoma) Coach (Jeff) Capel’s video. I’ve got to give a shout-out to Coach Capel because he surprised me with how good he was. I didn’t know that he had bounce like that!
After we had a bunch of laughs at the videos, I got to meet with the Director of Academics and the Dean of the Business School. We talked about how I would go about getting my certificate.
After that was the Pfeiffer exhibition game and that was a great experience for me, not only to be at Duke again and to be in that atmosphere, but also to see Andre’s first game. I was impressed! He dropped a 12-piece out there and did his thing! That was good to see.
I also want to give a shout-out to the Cameron Crazies for all of their efforts! I just want to tell them thank you. They did a great job and they had some very creative things to show me. They had some very cool tactics and some of the clothing that they wore was just really cool. They just did a great job.
Then after the game we had a chance to go out with the players and hang out with them a little more, which was a great time. And Sunday morning I had breakfast with Coach K and the staff at the Washington Duke and then I said my goodbye’s and I went home.
The visit was great. Obviously, I’ve been to Duke a lot, but it was just great to see more of the academic side and develop closer relationships with the players and spend more time with them.
Now I’m ready to visit UCLA, and of course I’ll be telling you guys all about it next week.

I’m glad you had a great time H40!
Who Cares just pick a school already because people really get sick of these high school kids that feel like there superstars and never did crap yet in college.
Come to Duke already!!! because we better than UNC
Who Cares, that’s just the attitude no one wants to see. These high school recruits get this way because of the fans and the hype. A lot of them have a good head on their shoulders and just get sucked in. All recruits should be allowed to pick their college of choice without all this outside influence. Let Harrison do what he wants, it is his future and it is a big decision. I applaud guys that take their time and visit all the schools they want. Why not take advantage of a situation that he will only live through once.
FANS stop being negative no matter who you root for.
GO DUKE! I’m glad Kyrie is coming to Duke and I’m glad Andre is already there!
Come to Duke we will pay you a lot of money

Sounds like he is closer and closer to seeing the light. Come on down to Duke where you will get to play for the best coach and get the best education in the land. We’ll even show you the correct way to use the word gesticulated in a sentence.
Now now… don’t be a dick.
Harrison, hope you come down to Duke! It is a great place to grow, a great place to learn from professors and students who have a wide range of experiences, and the BEST place to play basketball with a coach who knows a thing or two about self-discipline, respect, heart, and hustle. Oh, and a bit about winning, too!
Obviously, he can’t help being a dick. He’s a Dukie. That’s why Harrison should go somewhere else.
say no to the tarholes
Obviously a tarheel wrote that initial post.
what if I wrote:
Sounds like he is closer and closer to seeing the light. Come on down to Chapel Hill where you will get to play for the best coach and get the best education in the land. We’ll even show you the correct way to use the word gesticulated in a sentence.
See how that works? sigh.
Harrison pick the school thats best for you. Best of luck to you.
..or maybe with that “best education in the land” show Barnes the correct way to use gesticulated in a rap with J.J. Now, that would be an impressive use of “the best education in the land”.
haha, Tony is obviously from UNC. there is no way a duke alum would say something like that to the school’s very best recruit. good luck harrison!
Sounds like you had a great time. Really impressed with how you’ve handled the recruiting process with such civility and poise. Hoping you end up choosing Duke, but I’ll still watch you on TV no matter where you go.
Sorry dook, he’s coming to UNC! Sorry coach kay.
And, you can probably blame the film of wojo,
does this guy have enough highlights to put into
a film? Crissy Collins??
Go Heels!
david: great example of the reason that Harrison wants to attend Duke instead of carolina - to avoid juvenile name calling and pointless banter. If he wants a first class education, to maximize growth as a basketball player and to associate with classy individuals - Duke is the school. Bring it Harrison!
kb,
Classy? What does a dookie know about class?Guess you forgot about the stripper incident already and the speedo guy routine was pure “class” too?? Juvenile name calling? Isn’t that what the crazies do the whole game when they’re not doing cheers off a cheer sheet? When was the last time dook basketball ‘maximized’ any of it’s players abilities? Certainly you aren’t referring to McRoberts, Shav, or any of the McDonald AAs that have transferred over the last few years?
what does unc know about class? just ask mike nifong and john edwards
mike “disbarred” nifong (though I’m sure he’d be welcome at unc anytime) and john “I cheat on my wife” edwards (good thing he didn’t get elected president, huh)?
Lee Taylor
Guess you forgot that the rape case, was dropped…as there was NO rape at all.
But that didn’t stop all of the Duke professors and even the President of the university from throwing their student’s under the pass before any evidence was even obtained. Way to represent, dook!
Austin, the fact that the charge was dropped doesn’t change the fact that several dookies went out of their way to dehumanize someone.Their actions personify the rampant dook behavior and prevalent attitude that it is humorous to belittle others. K belittles players and referees all while claiming to be “a leader of men.” Dook students / crazies have made it an institution to belittle opposing teams players with immature chants/ cheers and signs. Yet as displayed by these replies still claim dook to be “classy individuals.”
Barnes does have some dook characteristics, no doubt but when all is said and done, he’s normal enough to see the dook hypocrisy runs deep.
Lee…….your fellow alum, Mr. Nifong, tampered with evidence, coerced witnesses, lied under oath, disenfranchised and used the entire African-American community in Durham. Do you really want to talk about ethics? Need we mention the inappropriate behavior from the likes of JR Reid, Rasheed, Vince, Ginyard’s and Lawson’s trouble with alcohol, ….oh, let’s not forget McAdoo and Hitchcock, Worthy’s prostitution charge, Stackhouse, the great Brian Norwood, oh…Andson Dorrence, Jarrell Miller, Quinn, Elzy, the great tag team of Moss and Bryant, the entire football team and their bisexual bondage entrapment case? Not to mention the great MJ and his disorienting rant during the HOF ceremony. What a total disaster! So what’s the point here??? If you live in a glass house………DON’T throw rocks! Just watch the game, dude.
Lee, would you like to make a $100 donation to the Mike Nifong Foundation?
The only hypocrisy is that unc fans think all things Duke are evil and all think unc is glorious and great, when things couldn’t be farther from the truth. Not hard for HB to see through that.
lets see, does he want a college or is he looking to play pro ball down the line, because duke gets all americans, all the time and nine out of ten are busts at the pro level……so if the big goal, which im sure it is,is to make some money….there’s no question where the better school is……..will see you in chapel hill harrison
I’m glad you enjoyed the visit Harrison! Duke loves you!
Let’s go Duke!
Gotta love any player who sees more Deans and academics than coaches and athletic directors during their visit. Law school, business school….follow Myron Rolle’s examply and get that Rhodes Scholarship….
I’ve enjoyed these Diary entries. Many thanks for taking the time to share your experiences.
Duke has much to offer, no doubt about that, and Coach K can make a good sales pitch - I’ve been at the Washington Duke for brunch when he and the staff have made one. For that matter, all of the schools on the list have much to offer. However, I hope you’ll come play for Coach Williams and join the Carolina family. With all due respect to the other programs on the list, Carolina is the only university with the academic standards, basketball excellence, coaching acumen, alumni relations and campus life to rival the best of the best of every other university in the nation. It is the logical choice and it is the right choice for life-long relationships.
What you whitnessed at Carolina’s alumni game was genuine. That is what Carolina means to every fan, player and coach involved with the university. I hope you’ll be on the court for the next one. You deserve nothing less.
No No No. Not every fan.
Nicholastree…
You hit the nail on the head… It’s all about the complete package. Harrison is bright enough and personable enough to realize that Carolina offers the complete package of academics (we have an actual undergrad degree in business… and let’s face it, Harrison won’t be around long enough to look at dook’s grad school! Socially… Carolina is normal. We have good people who are down to earth and not pompous… and the girls are incredible…
2 Nattys in 5 years… and all of our pros still come HOME to Chapel Hill whenever they can… You, Harrison, could come HOME to Chapel Hill too!
Yep, I’m sure Harrison likes tarholes who tout their own greatness any chance they get and bash other schools…I’d say Barnes is bright enough to realize that…yep.
You’re calling people ‘tarholes’ and then putting down UNC fans for ‘bashing other schools’ in the same sentence? Hmm, clever. Clever…
Alright everybody take a deep breath. Carolina and Duke are both fantastic choices. Both have excellent basketball programs that get great national coverage for any player who has hopes for the pros. Both have great academics. As a Duke fan, I hope he picks Duke obviously. No reason to bash Carolina at all.
Way to miss the point…tarhole.
Your point is crystal clear: you’ve shattered your glass house.
Hey I’m glad to hear you had a good time at Duke. good luck wherever you go, but I definitely hope you join the Blue Devil family down here. There’s nothin like it
Harrison Barnes I wish more young highschool phenoms followed your example. Now that I’ve gotten that out the way. Cmon down to Duke. The 2010-2011 National Title is waiting on you. All you have to do is sign the papers. Play for a great coach, the most passionate fans, and be a representative of all things that is right about being a student-athlete. Nov 12, 2010 is where it all begins. “Harrison Barnes come to Duke”.
Harrison, man be real. There’s a reason Coach K have been missing out on big time recruits, just because he got Kyrie… it have not changed. Don’t let Coach K lie to your face.
Harrison, if you want to play for the best fans, in the best arena, at the place with the deepest, richest basketball tradition, and learn from a great coach, there’s only one choice…
KANSAS!
Rock Chalk.
It’s funny how Roy’s “guy” was Bullock and has pulled out all the stops to keep HB away from Duke. Ole Roy kills me and when is the last time Carolina in recent history maximized potential??? Joe Forte? McCants? Sean May? Brandon Wright? Coach K will teach life lessons which are invaluable.
Hey HB, check out this article some Duke fans wrote about your visit to Duke. The students clearly love and want you in Duke blue! Good luck with your choice.
http://www.crazie-talk.com/2009/10/23/take-the-h-train-barnes-attends-practice-in-cameron/
Harrison, I am thrilled to hear your visit at Duke was a great one. Although I am not an official Cameron Crazie (I am 15 years old), I have been a fan for the last fifteen years of my life. You are incredibly lucky that you have an opportunity to attend one of the best academic colleges in the world, and play under the best basketball coach in the country (yes, better than NBA coaches). Coach K has has worked with star players such as Kobe Bryant and Lebron James. Soon, I hope to say he has worked with stars like Harrison Barnes! It makes me smile to think of you playing for the Duke Blue Devils along with other great recruits such as Kyrie Irving. I will respect whatever choice you make, but I believe the right choice is Duke. I wish you luck and hope to see you in a Duke Blue Devil uniform!
Thank you young Mr. Barnes for the class in which you have conducted yourself throughout this process. I am proud to announce that I am a graduate of neither DUKE nor UNC but rather NCSU. With that being said, constructively look at the evidence when considering which university to attend. If my opinion were to count, I would give the following: while UNC has some nice offerings and I think the 100 year celebration is 1 of these, however, do not forget that this was 1 event and will NOT be a normal climate in this locale. DUKE, in my opinion, and I have been around ACC and college interaction for nearly 30 years, gives the most total and complete experience you could choose if it came down to the 2 of these universities. DUKE ,in a nutshell, is somewhat of a magical place where someone of your caliber can fully appreciate and I REALLY believe you will soar to your greatest heights due to going there. I say this as an unbiased third party and I further believe all of the negativity coming from the unc fans should just exhibit my point and should be a serious sign to you that that would never be a place where you would find that happiness that will propell you into a great and inevitably grand future. I firmly believe DUKE would be the right choice here!
Great post Don!
Not sure which I admire most in this young man….his basketball skills, or his character.
Don’t think we’ve seen the likes of him since Bill Bradley, Grant Hill, or Shane Battier.
I wouldn’t be surprised if we see this young man running a Fortune 500 company in the not too distant future. (He seems too bright for politics.)
I hope wherever he goes, he gets both the hoops experience, and the educational experience he seeks to excel in whatever he chooses.
HB, There isn’t any place that’s going to love you more then Ames! I don’t think you will be fooled by the hype. You know home cookin is always the best even if it isn’t steak and lobster. Go Cyclones!!!
Harrison, let’s be honest. You’re going to Duke. We all know it.
As a UNC alumnus, I just want to tell you that honestly, we don’t need you, and we could care less. We’ve got plenty of talent lined up to take your place. And we look forward to destroying your squad at Duke next year.
Just get it over with, and quit dragging this out. See you on the court.
And that’s why I despise the carolina fanbase and all its walmart fans.
UNC fans are trash. I dont know why people think its the Duke fans. A Duke fans would never say garbage like that. But thats a typical Cryolina fan. He’ll be alright if he came to Duke. Because our 2010-2011 team will be the best in the nation.
Once again we have an example of someone who might claim to be a Carolina fan but is really a Duke fan wanting to make Carolina look bad. The usernames on this website are all-too-easy to create. I don’t trust much of what anyone says when what they say begins with telling us who they are.
However, since the above post makes the claim that “Duke fans would never say garbage like that” - surely you must think we all have the memory of a moth. Duke fans have a long-standing tradition of insulting opponents. Even to this day opposing players are welcomed by “Hi so-and-so, YOU SUCK!” at each game at Cameron. Coach K has had plenty of time during his years at Duke to correct such behavior but has not. From the “cheer sheets” to the signs hurling insults at opposing players, Duke’s fan identity and culture is shaped by attitude. Some of that has been turned on Duke’s own players when it suited the mob.
Devilballer: You are entitled to your own opinion, not your own facts.
An intelligent theory, but I would just like to point out that the tradition of yelling “You Suck” after player introductions has never been upheld at Cameron Indoor Stadium. While the Crazies have done some questionable things, insulting other team’s players is not one of them.
Riiight..like they never yelled “J.R can’t Reid” or “Have you Driven a Ford lately” to insult Phil Ford whose wife had cheated on him. Nope, not those classy dookies, never insulted those other players.
Yep, and unc fans telling maryland players to “go back to the ghetto” is very classy indeed.
Ok, lisette, let’s get with the program. I didn’t say we didn’t do our share of jeering. I was responding to the above post stating dook didn’t insult other teams’ players. Guess you just weren’t paying attention. But if you wanna go for the least classy, how bout we just cut right to the nasty: when Tarheel player Scott Williams lost both parents in a murder-suicide, dookies chanted “Orphan! Orphan!” NOw if you can recall any UNC crowd being that classless, please bring it.
Obviously there are some people who are making claims about themselves on this thread that seem highly dubious: the NCSU grad who further claims to be neutral, the person who claims to be a UNC alumnus but then taunts HB with rhetoric, etc.
There is no way for any of these identities to be verified and I doubt anything someone would say in this thread will positively affect HB’s decision. I think Carolina has the most to offer and would be the best possible fit. But, I’m not in HB’s shoes. Wherever he chooses to go it will be a pleasure to see him play and there will be many people wishing him well.
I thought official visits could only be 48 hours long. The staff picked the Barnes up on Thursday night and then had breakfast again with them Sunday morning, isn’t that longer than 48 hours?
HB I heard you threw our treasured Carolina shirt we gave you on your visit in the bushes so that tells me all I need to know about you.
It’s gonna be fun watching Coach Williams whip your butt with a smile on his face, have fun Dookie, you could have been great in Carolina Blue.
I guess Carolina fans just believe any rumor they hear.
HB I hvae been a Duke fan since 1978 and I certainly hope you do choose Duke but if you do not I am sure you will be successful wherever you go. Hope it’s Duke, you will be part of the Coach K Duke family and will enter the NBA prepared like Brand, Boozer, Hill, Deng, Maggette, Dunleavy and so on. But more important Duke and Coach K will prepare you for life after BB.
Good luck and much success to you.
Does anyone really believe dook had anything to do with preparing Deng or Maggette for NBA? Get real.
Whats up H. Barnes?!?! Glad you enjoyed your “official” visit to DUKE!!! You are a terrific talent that would fit in perfectly with Coach K’s system of inside/outside wing players. Danny Ferry, Grant Hill, Shane Battier, Loul Deng, Corey Maggette & Mike Dunleavy come to mind.
You have to opportunity to play for one of if not the greatest coaches in the history of the game. In one of the greatest stadiums in sport. With the best fans in college b-ball cheering you on. Oh, and the academics arent too shabby either!!
Good luck on the rest of your journey, whichever path you choose. DUKE’s Tradition of Excellence awaits you!!!!
Clearly these UNC fans already know the truth. Barnes is most likely Duke bound and they are turning green with envy. Honestly Carolina fans you do have a great squad filled with some talented players but if Harrison goes to Duke there is no way ole Roy’s team will be “destroying our squad”, especially when Ed Davis and Henson will be gone after this year. Harrison is the final piece to a stellar class for Duke. Mix him into the talent Duke already has and Duke becomes the favorite in this match up. Sorry Carolina but the truth hurts sometimes. Harrison Barnes will be a Blue Devil.
So true, unc fans can’t handle the truth
Riiight..like they never yelled “J.R can’t Reid” or “Have you Driven a Ford lately” to insult Phil Ford whose wife had cheated on him. Nope, not those classy dookies, never insulted those other players.
The truth is this:
- UNC is the reigning NCAA national champion team (the 5th in its history) while Duke didn’t make it to the final 4.
- there isn’t one UNC fan degrading himself begging Barnes to come to the Hill while dookies are falling all over themselves in a shamefully disgraceful display (and then get mad when Tarheel fans point this out because it make them feel even more lowly) pleading with him “Pleeeaassse come to dook, Harrison!” They say it’s because of what dook can do for him when it’s plain it is for what he can doo for dook.
- dook hasn’t won a game aginst us in their own house in 4 years
- BArnes met a who’s-who of NBA greats when he visited UNC including the greatest to ever play the game (and whom barnes is nemed after). This wasn’t possible at dook because their players don’t come back home (well, unless you count Jay Wms and who would?). I wonder why that is? I’ll tell you why. Because NC basketball is a brotherhood the likes of which a dookie could NEVER understand.
Now THAT is the truth. And I can cetainly live with it!
no the truth is unc fans are blind to anything or anybody who doesn’t tout carolina’s “greatness”, but I guess that’s pretty typical since the media in north carolina is pretty much “rah rah carolina” 24/7.
“there isn’t one UNC fan degrading himself begging Barnes to come to the Hill while dookies are falling all over themselves in a shamefully disgraceful display”
LMAO- yep, I guess roy williams spent countless hours recruiting Barnes just for the fun of it, and unc fans are looking at Barnes’ recruitment with “mere interest”. And begging Barnes? We already got Irving, so we’re in good shape.
lisette, if you can’t see the difference between a coach doing what he’s paid to do and a bunch of fans making a shameless spectacle of themselves, you should probably refrain from taking part in these discussions.
And yes, b-e-g-g-i-n-g. Here are a couple references:
http://www.newsobserver.com/sports/story/157153.html
http://sports.chronicleblogs.com/2009/10/23/duke-welcomes-harrison-barnes/
As far as Irving goes, you dookies displayed equally pathetic behavior over him. And if you’re in such good shape, why are you on here asking HB to come to dook?
Oh my!! didn’t realize posting a printing out a couple pictures of Barnes amounted to “an incredibly desperate attempt to woo him to save our program”
And for the second question, are you really that stupid? You really think schools don’t recruit to get a GREAT class, instead of just a GOOD class? and please tell me why unc fans are asking HB to join their team.
and if you stay in Ames and go to Iowa State, you don’t even have to pack until you go Pro. We don’t just “WANT” you HB we “LOVE” you!
HB,
I graduated from UNC and retired from Duke University. I am familiar with the culture of both schools. If you are to choose between UNC and Duke, then I encourage you and your family to make a discrete visit to each campus. Walk around incognito and get the real feel of each place. I think it would help you a good deal in making your decision.
whatever school HB chooses are gonna be the favorates to win, no question. but hopefully he’ll be the name everybody talks about when Duke gets back to the promise land.
Lawrence, Kansas is the place you want to be. Allen Fieldhouse…the best place to play and coach basketball according to Larry Brown.
Beware the Phog!
Rock Chalk Jayhawk!
As a lifelong Tar Heel, I certainly would love to have such a wonderful talent and young man, but I would also love to have the decision he has to make. Rivalry banter aside, can he really go wrong? Both are great schools, offer great educations, have classy HOF coaches, and great traditions to match. Our greatness is often a reflection of each other. Do I want to beat Duke every year? Yes. However, Carolina is not Carolina with out Duke, and Duke is not Duke without Carolina. That said, we should ALL stand up and applaud this young man, in a world of AAU agents and shady recruiting practices, Barnes represents what is right with high school and college basketball. Kudos to you Harrison, and good luck wherever you decide to go:)
I too have really enjoyed these diary entries.
Clearly, you have several passionate fan bases in play here. You’ve conducted yourself with a degree of class that is rarely seen in this process; for that, you are to be commended. Normally, I wouldn’t read the comments section, but I was curious. What I have seen, both from the Duke side as well as the UNC side, has been, in many cases, all-but-laughable.
Sure… I hope you choose Duke. But, the other schools from which you are choosing are all fine schools too. Each school has their own strengths and weaknesses. Doubtless you’re getting a good feel for that throughout this process. It’s nice to choose from all good choices, huh? Enjoy that, man. You’ve earned it.
Again, I hope you choose Duke, but I wish you the very best wherever you go.
Best of luck.
Harrison — wish you the best. I went to Duke and it has opened many doors, created many opportunities for me. I have been impressed with the class with which you present yourself. Selfishly I hope you play for my alma mater but I am sure you will make a great decision for your future. College is a tremendous experience, make the most of it, on court and otherwise. Good luck!
It’s quite obvious, Barnes won’t be a Dukie. He’ll be playing for the better looking blue. The ones who don’t learn how to flop.
Ever heard of Vince, Jerry, Cota, Ange???
Sounds like he’s going to UCLA then.
All of this bickering would make me reconsider going either place. You seem like a classy kid and I’d love you to come to Duke. But if you chose neither, based on all of this bashing from the worst examples from each university, I wouldn’t blame you.
In reality, you could do a lot worse than either place. Make the best choice for you.
But anyway, good luck Harrison.
Did anyone notice the Freudian slip?
“Then I got a chance to go out with the players and see how the other side of **Carolina** has a good time, and I would say that I definitely had a good time.”
Or was he referring to the “State” of NC?
WE LOVE YOU HARRISON BARNES!!! COME TO DUKE!!!!
Shock everyone and attend UCLA…it’s the only honorable thing to do.
Wow! You Duke & UNC fans need to relax and quit showing how hateful you are.
You have to respect Coach K on his program and how many NBA players he has developed.
I am a Kansas fan and I am still upset with Roy for never recruiting against UNC while at Kansas and not showing the same respect while at UNC but NO ONE can argue that Roy is a great coach!
At KU we have Bill Self and as good a program as anyone. Coach Self is proving that he takes a back seat to no one in terms of coaching, recruiting, teaching and developing NBA talent.
At UCLA you have a very good coach and one of the top programs in the land.
Oklahoma is an up and coming program with a very good young coach.
Iowa State is your home town and is the sentimental choice.
I hope you pick Kansas, but what ever school you pick, you will do well. You are a class guy.
I just wish the bickering would stop between Duke & UNC over recruits and just enjoy the rivalry.
Rock Chalk Jayhawks Go KU!
I know that if I could go to Duke, I would play up the UNC aspect as much as I could just so I could pull the rug out from under them and then rub it in their faces 2-4 times a year. Seriously, I might enjoy turning down UNC as much as Id enjoy going to duke…..haha
Harrison - you seem like a good kid. Jordan is a sleeze bag who cheated on his wife and no one can stand. Why be like Mike?
All the UNC hate for Barnes seems ironic now. Can we frame these hate posts and hang them up in the Dean Dome?
Classy Carolina fans… as always.
