Roscoe Smith Commits to UConn
Words. Aron Phillips

Back in November, we got up with Roscoe Smith to talk about his list of UConn, Duke and Georgetown, and this past Friday, the 6-foot-8 senior from Baltimore (who currently attends Oak Hill Academy) made his decision: He’s heading to Storrs.
Back in October when he attended UConn’s First Night celebration as part of an official visit, Smith shed some light on why he might choose the Huskies:
“The main [thing] about UConn is coach Jim Calhoun, his work, the past, and also the legacy of the players who played here, like Rudy Gay and Ben Gordon. I can do it all. Right now, [UConn coaches] are telling me, if I do come to UConn, the world is mine.”
With seniors Jerome Dyson and Stanley Robinson graduating, and Kemba Walker potentially entering his name in an NBA Draft that won’t feature too many guards, Smith will fit in well with the 2010-11 Huskies. He’ll join Cleveland Melvin, a 6-8 forward from Notre Dame Prep in Fitchburg, Mass., Jeremy Lamb, a 6-foot-4 guard from Norcross High in Georgia and Michael Bradley, a 6-10 forward from Tyner Academy in Chattanooga, Tenn., as part of the incoming freshman class for next season.

Great news for next year
