Brandon (Miss.) High School forward Tyler Adams said the rumors about him wavering in his commitment to Duke were “crazy” and “not true.”
“I don’t know what’s been going on,” said Adams, a rising senior who committed to the reigning national champions in late-April. “I’m solid to Duke.”
A Mississippi State fan site posted an article recently saying that the Bulldogs were still recruiting Adams, along with Georgetown. MORE >

This past weekend, the final regular session of Nike’s Elite Youth Basketball League commenced in Los Angeles. With over 40 teams from across the country converging in L.A., the event was definitely loaded with top-tier talent and competition.
Among the competitors in attendance was a pair of Kentucky commits and consensus top-3 overall prospects Mike Gilchrist and Marquis Teague. While Gilchrist’s Team Final squad looked to have more firepower on paper — a team that also featured five-star recruit Rakeem Christmas, Syracuse commit Trevor Cooney and a pair of future D-1 guys in Tyrone Johnson and Aaron Brown — Teague’s Spiece Indy Heat team managed to match their counterpart’s record with a 4-1 showing. When Brandon (Miss.) High School center Tyler Adams ended his recruitment Sunday night and committed to Duke over Alabama, Mississippi State, Clemson and Memphis, he was making his father, Lonnie Adams — one of the biggest Duke fans in Mississippi — the happiest man in the world and shocking himself in the process.
“I honestly hated Duke growing up, man,” said Adams, a 6-9 junior center. “I don’t know… They just won all the time, I guess. I don’t know. Does anyone know why they really hate Duke? I just know that I love them now!” MORE >
