Irving’s 30 points not enough to beat Findlay

Words. Jason Jordan

After trailing by eight at the half, St. Patrick (Elizabeth, N.J.) pulled to within two points with just one second left in regulation. And the reason for the comeback, point guard Kyrie Irving, was at the line.

Irving sunk the first free throw, but the Duke signee missed the second and the No. 1 team in the country fell to 3rd-ranked Findlay Prep (Henderson, Nev.) at the Hoophall Classic in Springfield, Mass., on the Martin Luther King holiday. MORE >

Jared Sullinger swished two clutch free throws with four seconds left in regulation to help Northland (Ohio) knock off No. 1-ranked Findlay Prep (Nev.), 53-52, Thursday night at the Rike Center in Westerville, Ohio.

In 2008, he found himself packing up all of his belongings and heading to Las Vegas to shoot pictures, edit video and ultimately tell a fantastic story. In 2009, he was laid off. While his salary may be gone, the passion he has for this story still exists, and he’s been working hard to keep it alive through a documentary. The Season is the story of the Findlay Prep Basketball team in Henderson, Nevada - perhaps (currently) the best high school basketball program in the country. MORE >
