Josh Selby Will Win The POWERADE Jam Fest Tonight

In case you didn’t already know, the McDonald’s All American Game is taking place this week. So that means the POWERADE Jam Fest is going on tonight. We just got the list of participants, and let me say, you couldn’t ask for a better group of dunkers. Josh Selby, C.J. Leslie, Joe Jackson, Ray McCallum, Jereme Richmond, Tristan Thompson, Patric Young and Perry Jones fill out the list of contenders. HSH Top 50 players cop Gatorade hardware

Twelve of the 50 players in the HSH national ranking took home the coveted Gatorade Player of the Year honor in their respective states. Here’s a look:

* FLORIDA — Brandon Knight, PG, Pine Crest H.S. (Ft. Lauderdale)

Harrow responds to McDonald’s All-American snub

Ryan Harrow is beginning to sense a pattern.

Last week, after the selections for the 2010 McDonald’s All-American Game were announced live on ESPNU, Harrow — a senior point guard at Walton H.S. in Marietta, Ga. — once again found himself on the outside looking in as he was denied a career-defining opportunity. General consensus among several media and HSH readers was that Harrow was the biggest McD’s snub out of anybody.

“I found out that I didn’t make it about a week before it was announced,” said Harrow, ranked No. 26 in the HSH national Top 50. MORE >

I told you yesterday that the McDonald’s All American Game Selection Show was happening tonight, as the top 24 high school basketball seniors in the country would be selected to play in the prestigious 2010 Games set to tip off in Columbus, Ohio on March 31. The Ultimate NBA Workout for Elite High School Athletes

As August came to a close, we hit up the Boost Mobile Elite 24 and all of the events that came with it during the week heading into the game (see all of our coverage HERE).

For the second consecutive year, the athletes competing in the Elite 24 event got to see, feel and experience just what it takes to make it to the next level when they went through a performance training workout and combine drills with Under Armour TNP Performance Training Council member (and strength and conditioning coach for the Denver Nuggets) Steve Hess at Sports Club L.A. on the Upper East Side of Manhattan the day before the Elite 24 game. The following breakdown, photos and video show exactly what kind of next-level workout Hess put high school basketball’s best athletes through in order to let them know how hard they would have to work to take their game to an elite level. It was the same type of conditioning work that Hess puts Carmelo Anthony and the rest of the Nuggets through on a daily basis. MORE >
