With Latavious Williams and Lance Stephenson as the last two top unsigned recruits this Spring, it looks like there is a chance that they could both end up at the same school: Memphis. When it comes to air balls it’s all about dispelling the embarrassment.
Kenny Boynton is beyond embarrassed.
Not even the roaring waves ramming the Pompano Beach, Fla., coastline can drown out the seemingly deafening chirps of the imaginary crickets inside of the Ely High gym. His eyes frantically shift from left to right like windshield wipers in a monsoon. Boynton, a senior combo guard who is signed with Florida, quickly debates if anyone noticed that he not only missed the shot, but, even worse, the rim.
Everyone’s looking now.

To the casual observer the month of April is bittersweet: The end of college basketball season and the beginning of a six-month countdown to start it all over again. But from attending AAU tournaments from coast-to-coast to showing up at gyms for private workouts to 20-hour shifts, for college coaches the work is just beginning.
We caught up with one of the best, Kansas State Associate Head Coach Dalonte Hill, widely regarded as one of the most gifted recruiters in the business, to chat about what a typical offseason is like for a top college assistant.
